Western Cape Firewood was built around something we have known, worked with and enjoyed for more than a decade: firewood.
Our family has been involved in the firewood industry for over twelve years. Along the way, what started with a small handful of guys grew into a team of friends, skilled hands and like-minded fire enthusiasts. Many of the people who work with us today have spent years in the industry, working across different businesses and learning the trade from the ground up.
Over time, those working relationships became friendships, and those friendships became a team.
In November 2023, we decided to take everything we had learnt and build something of our own. Western Cape Firewood was forged from that idea — a local business built by people who know firewood, enjoy working with it and genuinely care about the product that reaches your home.
After nearly three years of planning, learning and building behind the scenes, we finally brought Western Cape Firewood online in October 2026.
And this is only the beginning.
Firewood Is Part of Our Lives
For us, firewood isn't simply something we load onto a bakkie or truck and deliver.
It's part of how we live.
We braai with it. We light fires indoors when the Cape cold sets in. We gather around fire pits with friends and family. We cook Sunday potjiekos over an open fire. We smoke meat, experiment with different fuels and spend plenty of time around a good fire.
We are enthusiasts.
From seasoned firewood and charcoal to coal, smoking woods, ignition products and other natural fuel sources, our interest has always extended beyond simply selling wood. We love understanding what burns, how it burns and what makes a great fire.
Growing up in South Africa — and more importantly, growing up in Cape Town — we have always understood the role fire plays in bringing people together.
A fire is warmth.
It's food.
It's conversation.
It's a Sunday afternoon.
It's friends around a braai, family around a fire pit and a cold Cape evening made better by a roaring fireplace.
That's the experience we want to help create.
Built by People Who Know the Industry
One of the things that makes Western Cape Firewood different is the people behind it.
Our team brings years of hands-on experience in the firewood industry. We know how wood should be handled, prepared, stacked and delivered. We take particular pride in our stacking — because to us, loading and stacking firewood isn't just another job.
We take it seriously.
We go all out to make sure our customers receive their wood professionally stacked and ready to use.
And because we actually burn the products ourselves, we don't simply rely on a supplier's description or a label on a pile of wood.
We test what we sell.
The guys on our team use firewood, charcoal and other products in their own homes and social gatherings. We experience the same fires our customers do. We learn what lights easily, what burns well, what makes good coals, what works for a braai, what works in a fireplace and what works when you're simply looking for a great fire.
That experience matters.

Our goal is simple:
To provide great firewood, great products and great service to people across Cape Town and the Western Cape.
We want to build a business that customers can trust — one that understands the products it sells and takes pride in every delivery that leaves our yard.
We are still a growing business, and that's something we're proud of.
With the support of our customers, we hope to continue growing our team, expanding our product range and reaching more communities across the Western Cape.
But as we grow, we don't want to lose what brought us here in the first place.
